Australia’s current best performing suburbs have been revealed. New data from CoreLogic shows which suburbs experienced consistent median value growth, over the last 12 months and the medium and longer-term.
Canterbury, VIC has experienced consistently strong median value growth over the past five years, making it the top performing suburb in Australia.
According to CoreLogic, Cantebury’s median house value of $3,042,798 as of January 2020 experienced growth of 31.1% over the past 12 months; 16.5% over the past three years; and 44.5% over the past five years.
Out of the top 50 suburbs in CoreLogic’s recent January 2020 Top Performing Suburbs report, Victoria dominated the national list in terms of median value growth with 32 of the 50 suburbs, compared to 15 suburbs in New South Wales, and three suburbs in Queensland.
The only non-Victorian suburbs in the top 10 were, Corowa, NSW and Darlinghurst, NSW.
Corowa’s median value of $228,508 grew 25.9% over the past 12 months; 15% over the past three years; and 24.7% over the past five years each it the number two spot.
Darlinghurst came in at number 3, with a median value of $2,048,000 growing 25.9% over the past 12 months; 14.2% over the past three years; and 46.1% over the past five years.
Southport, the top suburb in Queensland, has been a consistent performer for the past five years.
Southport came in at number 27, with a median value of $648,274 growing 20.4% over the past 12 months; 20.2% over the past three years; and 38.3% over the past five years.
Overall, metro areas performed well with 44 of the top 50 suburbs located in metro areas.
